WHICH SLIDE GATE
Cantilever vs. V-Track — Which Slide Gate Fits
V-track (roller) gates roll on a wheel in a track set into the driveway. Lower cost, but the track collects dirt, gravel, and water and needs to be kept clear to roll smoothly.
Cantilever gates hang from rollers on posts beside the opening and float above the ground — nothing to clog, freeze, or flood. They cost more and need room alongside the driveway for the counterbalance, but they’re the low-maintenance choice for Houston yards that flood or collect debris.
We help you choose the right design for your opening and pair it with a matched operator.
MATERIALS
Materials & Finishes
We build sliding driveway gates in wrought iron, wood, and steel — not aluminum. Aluminum gates bend and slam in Houston’s high winds and are hard to weld or repair; iron is stronger and field-repairable. Every gate is primed and finished with Sher-Kem, a Sherwin-Williams direct-to-metal industrial enamel built for adhesion and corrosion resistance — not powder coat.

What Our Customers Say
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose a sliding driveway gate over a swing gate?
Slide gates are ideal for short driveways, upward slopes, or wide openings where a swing gate has no room to open. They also suit high-traffic commercial entrances.
What’s the difference between a cantilever and a V-track slide gate?
A V-track gate rolls on a wheel in a track in the driveway (lower cost, needs the track kept clear); a cantilever gate hangs from posts and floats above the ground with nothing to clog — better where flooding or debris is a concern.
What materials do you build sliding gates from?
Wrought iron, wood, and steel — not aluminum. Every gate is primed and finished with Sherwin-Williams Sher-Kem industrial enamel, not powder coat.
Does the price include the gate opener?
Yes. We quote one all-inclusive price covering the gate, the matched slide operator, labor, and tax.
How wide a driveway can a sliding gate cover?
From single residential driveways to wide commercial entrances; for very wide openings with limited side room we build telescoping (multi-panel) slide gates.
Do you build commercial sliding gates?
Yes. We build heavy-duty residential and standard-commercial slide gates; very large industrial spans are handled by our sister company, Advanced Fences.
